Copywriting & Marketing

  • Over five years experience as head copywriter and content editor for Austin, TX startup, FreightPros. Duties included technical writing for white papers, e-books, and blogs; breaking down complex industry practices into layman's terms, and cultural experiences in the Austin area (including SXSW). Also created copy and content for website pages (including SEO best practices), describing FreightPros' services to customers, vendors, and carriers, and creating a platform of customer-specific educational material including "How-to" videos, blogs, e-books, and white papers.

  • Head editor and author of company content and blogs ranging from 1500+ words (involving extensive research and outreach), to shorter 500 word posts published 2-3 times per week. These sometimes included external guest posts for brokerages, logistics companies, and other industry partners.

  • Responsible for over 30 White Papers that ranged from comprehensive "how-to" guides for customers (including glossaries of industry terms), to internal practices documents for employees. Also wrote multiple e-books, each over 50 pages in length, including the design for the basic format, editorial layout, and cover design.

  • ​Filmed, performed in, and wrote multiple scripts for instructional industry videos.

Editorial & Design

  • Five years experience as contributing editor to the literary journal, One for One Thousand (1:1000). General editorial responsibilities included line edits for guest submissions and contributions, as well as more extensive re-writes and editorial shaping.

  • Worked to define the image and brand of the journal, including text and page design, story layout, cover images, and more using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, as well as Snappa Graphic Design Software.

  • Also have two years experience as a Freelance copywriter and content creator with work in SEO, and internal and external link-building, social media, and brand outreach. 

SEO/Link Building & Social Media

  • Handled all of the SEO and link building for the company website at FreightPros, and developed the site's web presence from scratch. This included both email marketing using tools such as MailChimp, as well as extensive social media outreach and brand-building for both FreightPros and One for One Thousand.

  • SEO practices included extensive keyword research and tracking, using industry tools such as Google Adwords, Google Analytics, and Moz.

​

  • Through both internal and external link-building, generated content and links to help expand the website's Domain Authority as well as Search Engine Rankings to cultivate a better and more streamlined customer and vendor experience.
